Trigger reach is 13" and this rifle weighs 8.2 pounds.
The .50 caliber barrel is 1" octagon and 26" long. The .50 caliber bore is rifled with a 1 in 48" twist to provide good accuracy with a patched round ball, or a Thompson Center .50 caliber Maxi-ball. The bore is bright, but we note there is light pitting mostly near the muzzle. The factory bluing has some light speckling, mostly around the breech. The barrel is fitted with a bead style front sight that has been painted orange for better visibility, and a green fiber optic Thompson Center v-notch adjustable rear sight that is screw adjustable for windage and elevation.
Our top view shows the hooked breech, which can be dismounted by removing the ramrod and wedge key, for easy cleaning. Strong thumb pressure will remove it, no tools are needed. No cheek piece is carved on the T/C Renegade Hunter. The blued iron buttplate is marked with the TC logo.
Our bottom view shows the blued steel triggerguard and walnut stock. The stock has only a few very minor marks from handling. A swivel stud is mounted in the bottom of buttstock, positioned just forward of the toe. The rear ramrod pipe has been fitted with an integral swivel lug. The 3/8" diameter black synthetic ramrod is fitted with a blued steel tip threaded 10-32 to accept loading and cleaning accessories. The ramrod is retained by two round blued steel pipes.
The percussion lock is factory engraved and color case hardened with attractive color. The lock has a crisp action. The lock is retained by a single lock bolt with blued steel washer-style side plate.
