Sleek, smooth, and elegant, this attractive Tulle fusil-de-chasse is better fitted and finished than the original antique Tulle fusil in our collection. Stocked in black walnut, the baluster wrist and sleek lines of this French trade gun are complimented by the smooth hand finish. The lock, barrel, and iron furniture have a mottled gray patina. Used, this Tulle has a few handling marks on the stock. The breech end of the barrel has the mark of contemporary builder Anthony Palyszeski. Weighing in at 7.4 pounds with a trigger reach of 13" this fusil is perfectly setup for today's average size shooter

The barrel of the fusil measures 41-1/2" in length and has a bright 20 gauge bore that measures .620" and has been finished externally with a mottled patina effect. The octagon-to-round barrel has no rear sight and a fusil front blade sight soldered 2-1/2" behind the muzzle in French fashion. The top flat of the barrel is engraved with Anthony Palyszeski's mark just ahead of the breech. This smoothbore .62 caliber gun will qualify for N.M.L.R.A. Trade Gun Matches, where you fire patched round balls at paper targets, and shot at clay birds, using the same flint smoothbore gun. We recommend our pure lead .595" round balls. We offer the inexpensive #LEE-595 ball mold, now in stock. Be sure to order 20 gauge wads, cards, and a few gun flints.

The sweeping architecture of the French fusil buttstock is quite comfortable to shoot, despite the unusual appearance. The wide flat buttplate is an advantage, since it reduces the recoil you will feel when firing full loads. The black walnut stock has attractive pattern in the buttstock. This smoothbore is used and the finish has lightened on the wrist from handling. The gun is trimmed in the proper iron furniture all of which has been patina finished to match the lock and barrel. When viewed from the bottom, notice the French style triggerguard, in iron with blued screws. The sweeping baluster wrist runs from the trigger to the toe of the buttplate. The buttstock has a few dings, including one larger dent behind the triggerguard. The ramrod is fitted with a flared brass jagged tip with 8-32 threads to allow accessories to be attached. The patina finished iron sideplate is flush mounted to retain the two lock bolts. This sideplate is the classic French design, used on fusils, made at Tulle, St. Etienne, Charleville, Mauberg, and other French gun making centers. The side panel has some pressure dents from handling.

Made by R. E. Davis Company, this best quality flint lock has been given a mottled patina finish to match the barrel and furniture. The frizzen face has been marked from regular use. This lock has a sturdy mainspring, and sparks very well. We stock every spare lock part for this nice flint lock, but spare parts are rarely needed on locks of this quality. Be sure to order a dozen of our best 7/8" English gun flints, #FLINT-ENG-7. They are the perfect size for your Tulle fusil lock. Cocking the lock requires real effort, since the strong mainspring is tensioned to produce best sparks, and fast lock time. Trigger release is smooth and light, due to the high leverage trigger geometry.

Used, in excellent condition, the ramrod is finished to compliment the stock. The stock has some dents and a few minor scratches in the satin smooth varnish. The bore is clean and bright, well maintained. Order it for a ten day visual inspection. You will be delighted. Else if it does not fit you, return it in unfired condition for same-day refund.
