This replica Hawken rifle was factory finished by InvestArms, Italy for Cabela's. This rifle is lightly used with a few small handling marks on the stock finish. The brass furniture has aged to a mellow patina from use. The blue finish on the barrel and color case hardening on the lock are in excellent condition. The bore is bright and has been well maintained. Manufactured by Investarm of Italy, the rifle design is nearly identical to the Thompson Center Hawken. Trigger reach is 14-1/4" to fit today's man size shooter. Weight is 8.7 pounds.

The barrel is 15/16" octagon, blued steel, 28" long. The .50 caliber bore is bright and clean, with crisp rifling grooves. Rifled with a 1 in 48" twist for both patched round balls and conical bullets. We recommend our .490" round ball, .015" patch, and Mink Oil tallow patch lubricant, over a charge of 70 grains of GOEX FFg black powder. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The bead front blade sight is dovetailed directly behind the muzzle. The bluing shows only minor wear.

The walnut stock has a few small handling marks. The brass furniture includes a large cap box. All of the furniture was burnished bright and is starting to develop a mellow patina from use. The hooked breech allows for easy cleaning. Place the lock at half cock and remove the ramrod. Press out the brass wedge key, using a brass or hardwood drift. Then lift the muzzle end, to unhook the breech plug from its tang. Remove the 6-.75mm threaded nipple, and insert the breech end into a bucket of hot soapy water, for easy cleaning. The rifle is fitted with a wooden ramrod with 10-32 threads for cleaning accessories. The bottom of the buttstock is fitted with a sling swivel stud, and a forward stud is fitted to the rear ramrod pipe. No sling is included. A beavertail cheek is shaped on the left side of the buttstock. The lock bolt passes through a simple brass washer style sideplate.

The percussion lock is color case hardened, with modern coil spring geometry inside. This lock has a fly détente in the tumbler, for smooth action with the double lever double set triggers. The lock has a strong mainspring, and the set triggers are adjusted to allow you to cock the lock, or set the trigger, in any sequence. A stainless steel 6-.75mm nipple for No. 11 percussion caps is fitted.
